Home Improvement Buying Club Scottsdale | Gold & Platinum

Scottsdale buying guide · 01 / 46

Planning a kitchen, bathroom or whole-home materials purchase in Scottsdale? Home Improvement Buying Club (HIBC) is a national online membership buying program. Use this Scottsdale guide to compare Gold and Platinum, organize your quotes and choose the next buying decision before you join.

Start with your drawings, itemized cabinet quote or room-by-room materials list. Independent showrooms provide design and pricing; your separately hired builder or installer handles the construction work you agree with them. The specific showroom arrangements, designer availability and no-charge design scope are confirmed before an appointment.

Scottsdale · Start with your project

Turn your plans into a clearer buying decision.

Have a quote in hand or ideas still taking shape? Choose your starting point. You can explore the buying process before deciding whether to join.

Explore Gold

Kitchen remodel or cabinet purchase?

Bring an itemized quote, drawings or your ideas. Tell us what you want to change and when you plan to buy.

Explore Platinum

New home or full-gut remodel?

Share your room-by-room materials scope and your builder’s responsibilities. Ask which purchasing categories and Platinum services fit your project.

Your first conversation: clarify your buying scope, the quote or drawing you want to discuss, and whether membership fits your project.

No payment or membership is required to make a request. Showroom arrangements, designer availability and no-charge design scope are confirmed before an appointment. HIBC is a buying program; construction is handled by your separately hired professionals.

Compare Gold and Platinum fees and membership terms.

Choose the project path before the membership

For a kitchen, bathroom or flooring project, begin with the Gold discussion. For a new home or full-gut remodel requiring coordinated whole-home materials planning, bring a Platinum scope brief. A large kitchen budget alone does not prove that Platinum is the better choice. The deciding question is what purchasing scope and support your project needs, and what HIBC confirms in writing.

The current membership FAQs explain the two plans. You can request a kitchen design and quote before joining. The independent showroom, designer availability and complimentary scope are confirmed before an appointment. Requesting information does not purchase a membership.

Start where your next decision is difficult

If you already have a cabinet quote, identify allowances, missing components and services before comparing totals. If the room layout is undecided, first resolve what stays and what moves. For a whole-home project, separate kitchen, baths, flooring and other proposed purchases, then ask which categories and supplier options are eligible. That makes the membership discussion specific enough to act on.

A useful first brief contains four things: the exact project location, the rooms or products you intend to buy, your current drawings or itemized quote, and your intended decision date. A target budget helps establish priorities; it is not evidence of a confirmed supplier price. Keep optional ideas separate from the scope that is ready for review.

Put membership in the complete-cost comparison

Compare equivalent products and services in both proposals. Add membership dues to the club side, then include the applicable tax, delivery, installation and required accessories in the appropriate place. Count a bundled charge once. Leave an unknown line marked unpriced rather than entering zero. A lower cabinet subtotal may still be a more expensive completed purchase if the packages differ.

HIBC adds no product markup. That explains the buying model; it does not establish the result for your project. Ask for a quote on the specifications you want and judge its total alongside the other proposal. If the scope is too small to justify the membership fee, it is reasonable to keep comparing before joining.

Give Scottsdale approvals their own place in the plan

Use the actual property address to establish the governing jurisdiction; a Scottsdale mailing address is not your permit determination. The city’s home-improvement guidance distinguishes cosmetic work from projects involving construction or changes to building systems. Ask the responsible professional and city staff which reviews apply to your scope before setting an irreversible order date.

City approvals and any association or building requirements are separate questions. For a condominium, ask about access, delivery rules and any proposed exterior changes. For a detached home, identify any applicable association review. HIBC membership is a purchasing relationship; it does not replace permits, engineering, a construction contract or professional field verification.

Keep the team’s responsibilities visible

Your independent showroom provides design and pricing. Your selected contractor or installer handles the separately agreed construction work. Name who verifies final measurements, approves appliance openings, accepts delivery, documents damage and authorizes order changes. A complete quote is more useful when those responsibilities are attached to actual people.

For Gold, concentrate first on the room and product decisions that can be specified. For Platinum, add the cross-room dependencies: which cabinet finish carries into the laundry, which flooring transitions require a builder decision, and which purchase must wait for a revised plan. Confirm the actual HIBC service scope instead of assuming that a higher-priced membership includes construction management.

Use the collection to prepare a stronger request

The guides below are designed to produce an actionable buying brief, not to declare a universal best product or best remodeler. Choose the question that is holding up your decision, complete its notes privately, then share the relevant drawings and quote details through the existing HIBC request process. Keep supplier pricing confidential and ask HIBC to help compare it fairly.

Read the membership terms before paying, including the conditional refund and product-order distinction. Joining and placing a product order are different decisions. The strongest next step is a well-defined project comparison, with enough information to decide whether the membership is useful for your home.

Put membership behind a clear buying plan.

HIBC provides confidential wholesale buying access with no HIBC product markup. Independent showrooms provide design and pricing; your separately hired professionals handle installation and construction.

Gold · Kitchen, bath & flooring

Bring your room plans into focus.

$4,995

First year. From Year 2, the $495 annual renewal is optional and purchased separately. No automatic subscription or auto-charge.

Start with your itemized kitchen or materials quote. Compare the complete club purchase plus dues before deciding.

Platinum · New home & full-gut remodel

Consider the whole materials plan.

$24,995

One-time enrollment fee for projects requiring coordinated whole-home materials planning. Confirm the specific benefits, eligible purchasing scope and applicable continuation terms with HIBC.

A larger budget alone does not establish fit. Bring the room-by-room scope and your builder’s responsibilities.

Before joining: membership is separate from product, tax, freight, installation and other supplier charges. Pricing and availability depend on the actual quote. If dissatisfied and no orders have been placed, request a full membership-fee refund within 30 days of joining. Product orders have separate supplier terms. Read the membership terms and current FAQs. No-charge design scope and showroom arrangements are confirmed before the appointment; a request does not enroll you.

Home Improvement Buying Club: Scottsdale questions

What is Home Improvement Buying Club for Scottsdale homeowners?

Home Improvement Buying Club (HIBC) provides membership-based buying access and support for comparing your proposed materials purchase. Use this Scottsdale collection to clarify specifications, complete costs and project responsibilities. Ask HIBC to confirm the eligible products and services for your actual project; membership does not guarantee a particular price, saving or product availability.

Is Home Improvement Buying Club a remodeling contractor?

No. HIBC is a buying program. Independent showrooms provide design and pricing, and your separately hired contractors and installers perform their agreed work. Keep responsibility for final measurements, permits, ordering, delivery and installation clear before you commit.

Can I request kitchen design and a quote before joining?

Yes. An initial design and quote request is separate from membership and does not enroll or charge you. Confirm the independent showroom arrangements, designer availability and complimentary design scope before an appointment.

Should I consider Gold or Platinum for my Scottsdale project?

Start with Gold for a kitchen, bathroom or flooring buying discussion. Platinum is intended for a new home or full-gut remodel requiring coordinated whole-home materials planning. A larger kitchen budget alone does not establish Platinum fit. Compare the current fees and confirmed services against your actual buying scope before deciding.

Will these guides show confidential member prices?

No. These guides help you prepare an itemized comparison. Specific supplier pricing is handled through the appropriate HIBC process. Include the applicable membership fee and all product, tax, delivery, installation and other charges when comparing complete buying routes.
