Is HIBC Platinum Worth $24,995? Compare the Complete Whole-Home Purchasing Scope
A complete cost comparison helps you decide whether HIBC Platinum belongs in your new-home or full-gut remodel plan. Start with the purchases you still need to make, compare matching specifications and include the $24,995 one-time membership fee.
This is HIBC’s own guide to that evaluation. It is designed to help you reach a clear, project-specific decision using your actual quotations.
Identify the purchases that belong in the comparison
Begin with a list of material decisions that remain open. Potential categories include windows, doors, roofing, siding, flooring, cabinetry, fixtures, appliances, furniture and window treatments. Confirm availability and scope for each specific item.
Keep this list separate from the broader construction budget. Labor, excavation, design, permits and other services may be substantial expenses, but they answer a different cost question from the materials you are comparing.
Set already-ordered items aside, and mark the products that still offer a genuine choice. This gives you a realistic starting point for evaluating the membership.
Put the same specification on both sides
For each significant item, record the product identification, quantity, dimensions, finish and required components. If one proposal offers an alternative, describe the difference and have the appropriate project professional review it.
A well-presented comparison should let you see both price and scope. One quote may include finishing pieces, freight or installation that another lists separately. Another may use a different quantity or specification.
Bring those differences into view before judging the totals. You may prefer one option for a design or practical reason; the important thing is to know what you are choosing.
Build a complete cost sheet
| Cost or scope item | Existing proposal | HIBC-related project proposal |
|---|---|---|
| Products and quantities | Exact specification | Exact specification |
| Accessories and required components | Included or separate | Included or separate |
| Delivery and handling | Scope and charge | Scope and charge |
| Installation and other services | Scope and charge | Scope and charge |
| Taxes and additional charges | Seller’s stated treatment | Seller’s stated treatment |
| Product change and return terms | Relevant agreement | Relevant agreement |
| Membership fee | Any applicable fee | $24,995 one-time Platinum fee |
| Open cost questions | Information needed | Information needed |
Use dated, written proposals and identify estimates. As answers arrive, update the same sheet so that earlier assumptions stay easy to distinguish from confirmed information.
Include the membership fee in the value decision
HIBC does not add a product markup. You pay the membership fee separately and evaluate product costs alongside delivery, installation, taxes and other applicable charges.
The useful comparison is between complete purchasing alternatives that meet your requirements. Work out the difference after including the membership fee and any extra costs associated with your chosen arrangement.
If product-price savings do not cover those costs, savings alone are not a sufficient reason to join. You may also value aspects of the purchasing approach, but give those a clear description of their own. That way, the financial comparison remains straightforward and the personal decision remains yours.
Consider the practical fit alongside the numbers
Discuss owner-purchased materials with your builder. Confirm how allowances will be reconciled, who handles receiving and installation, and how an incorrect or damaged item will be addressed.
Ask sellers for current availability, production information and delivery arrangements. Note which dates are estimates and which commitments have been confirmed. Include the services actually offered in the comparison, with your builder and installers retaining their agreed responsibilities.
For continuation options, ask Tom for the terms applicable to your membership. Getting that answer before you rely on it keeps the wider project plan clear.
Prepare a focused conversation with Tom
A productive cost discussion can begin with three things: your remaining materials list, the quotations you have and the questions that prevent a fair comparison.
Perhaps the product specifications are clear but freight is missing. Perhaps a builder allowance bundles several services. Bring that specific issue forward so the next step is useful.
Explore the HIBC first look, then email [email protected] for Tom’s personal help with Platinum. For the kitchen portion, request free design to develop the product conversation.
A good decision leaves you knowing what you will buy, what remains separate and how the membership fits the home you want to create.
