Your First 30 Days with HIBC Silver: A Flooring Plan at Your Pace

September 12, 20264 min read

Bring your flooring ideas into focus with a few thoughtful steps: describe the rooms, explore favorite finishes and understand the complete investment. Your first month with HIBC Silver can help you build a plan that feels right for your home.

Use these suggested stages at your own pace. Product availability and your arrangements with suppliers and installers will shape your project schedule.

Days 1–5: Describe the rooms you want to change

Start with a short project note. List each room, the floor you have now and the feeling you want from the new one. Add photographs of adjoining finishes you plan to keep.

Record approximate dimensions as planning information. Identify who will verify final measurements and quantities before an order is placed. Note stairs, doorways and changes between rooms so they remain part of the conversation.

Include everyday priorities: comfort, appearance, cleaning preferences, pets and how you use the spaces. Ask the independent supplier to explain which specific products suit your circumstances and what additional information is needed.

Share your starting point with Silver support. Include the name and email used when joining, and tell us where you would appreciate a little guidance.

Days 6–10: Give a small shortlist your attention

Choose two or three flooring directions to explore. Ask the supplier about sample availability, fees and return arrangements.

Keep the exact product and finish reference with each sample. Look at the options beside your retained finishes and in your room’s different lighting conditions. Write down what you like and what still concerns you.

Ask how well each sample represents the full product’s appearance. Product-specific questions about suitability, variation, care and installation should be answered using the information for that exact flooring.

Give yourself time to understand the options and enjoy discovering what feels at home.

Days 11–17: Assemble the complete cost picture

Request an itemized flooring quote based on the proposed product and verified quantities. Ask who determines the allowance for cuts and additional material.

Bring the installation work into the comparison. Have the responsible provider explain removal, preparation, underlayment or adhesives, transitions, trim, stair details and cleanup where relevant. Identify items that require a separate installer quote.

Silver membership is $995 initially and covers flooring only. HIBC adds no product markup, while materials, delivery, installation and other project charges remain separate. Place those costs beside membership when assessing the complete investment.

Ask the provider to explain any preparation allowance, including how the final work will be assessed and approved. A clearer cost picture makes the next decision easier.

Days 18–24: Get help with the next decision

Choose the question that would help your plan move forward. It might concern product availability, a quote, an installation detail or a change in your timing.

Send support a brief update with the relevant product or quote reference and the question you need answered. We can help with membership questions and clarify the next conversation with your independent supplier or installer.

If you are dissatisfied and considering an initial membership refund, contact us promptly. You may request a full initial membership refund within 30 days of joining, provided no orders have been placed. Following this planning outline or discussing your concerns does not extend that window.

Days 25–30: Choose the next step with confidence

Review what is confirmed and what remains open:

  • Your preferred product and the reasons for choosing it.
  • Final measurement and quantity responsibility.
  • Written material, delivery and installation costs.
  • Current availability and the seller’s order terms.
  • The person responsible for receiving the flooring and coordinating installation.

Choose the step that suits your circumstances: proceed, refine the plan, ask for help or request cancellation. Tom handles cancellation requests, and any project assistance he offers is yours to accept or decline.

Silver’s $95 annual renewal is an optional separate purchase, with no automatic annual charge. You do not need to decide about renewal while planning your first flooring project.

Tell Silver support how your plan is taking shape. “Here is what I love, and here is what I still need to know” is a helpful place to start.
