Why Home Improvement

Buying Club Exists

Our Story

  • Most homeowners only ever see the retail side of home improvement. Bright showrooms. Big sale signs. Carefully staged displays that make everything look perfect.

  • What you do not see is the second world that builders and large retailers live in every day. In that world there are confidential price lists, direct relationships with manufacturers and distributors and insider pricing that is often much lower than what the public pays.

  • Tom saw that gap from both sides. He saw homeowners trying to stretch their budgets for flooring, kitchens, baths and full home projects. He also saw the prices that professionals were actually paying for many of the same products. The difference was often thousands of dollars on a single project.

  • Home Improvement Buying Club was created to close that gap. The goal is simple. Help everyday families use professional level pricing and planning so they can stop overpaying and start putting more of their money into their homes instead of into retail markup.

Our Mission

  • Our mission is to give homeowners a smarter way to buy for their homes.

  • We do that by: Opening the door to insider pricing that is usually reserved for builders and large retailers

  • Matching membership levels to real projects so you only pay for the access you need

  • Providing clear side by side comparisons so you can see the difference between retail and insider pricing

  • Offering guidance that is focused on long term value instead of one night only retail specials

  • When you understand what things really cost and you have a team in your corner, your budget can buy better products and more comfort for your family.

How Home Improvement

Buying Club Is Different

  • Most places that sell home improvement products make money by marking up what they sell. The more you spend and the higher the markup, the better they do.

  • Home Improvement Buying Club takes a different approach.

  • We are a buying club, not a typical store: Our model is based on membership and long term relationships. That allows us to focus on helping you buy closer to the prices that professionals pay.

  • We are educators, not high pressure closers: We take time to explain how insider pricing works. We show you real comparisons between retail and insider numbers. We help you decide what makes sense for your family.

  • We match to your projects, not the other way around: Silver is for flooring. Gold is for serious kitchen and bath projects. Platinum is for full home renovations and new builds. You are not pushed into a level that does not fit what you plan to do.

  • We work alongside your contractor or designer: If you already have a contractor, builder or designer you like, you can keep working with them. Your membership simply changes how you source and price many of the materials that go into your project.

Meet Tom Pope

  • Tom Pope is the founder of Home Improvement Buying Club and the driving force behind the membership model.

  • After years in the industry, Tom kept seeing the same pattern. Homeowners were making large decisions with partial information. They were being shown retail prices and limited options, while professionals were quietly using a much larger toolbox of products and insider pricing.

  • Tom believed there was a better way. He believed homeowners deserved access to professional level information and pricing, along with honest conversations about when membership makes sense and when it does not.

  • Home Improvement Buying Club reflects that belief. It is structured to give you clear answers, real numbers and a path that fits your projects instead of a one size fits all pitch.

  • You can think of Tom and the HIBC team as your insider pricing guides. They help you see what is possible so you can make decisions that feel smart today and still feel smart years from now.

What You Can Expect

As A Member

  • Clarity: You will understand how insider pricing works, how it compares to the quotes you are seeing and where the largest savings opportunities are for your specific projects.

  • Support: You will not be left to figure everything out on your own. From your first fifteen minute call through planning and purchasing, you have access to people who know the products, the pricing and the process.

  • Focus on your results: We want your projects to turn out well and your membership to feel worthwhile. That means honest conversations, realistic expectations and a clear plan to get the most out of your membership level.

Ready To See How This

Applies To Your Home

  • If you have flooring, a kitchen or bath remodel, a full home project or a new build in mind, you do not have to guess what insider pricing could do for you.

  • A short conversation can show you how different your numbers might look when you shop like a builder instead of like the general public.
