Washington, DC Kitchen Remodeling Companies: Compare 10 Options

October 13, 2026
Washington, DC • Kitchen company and cabinet buying guide

Find the right fit before you sign.

Searching for the best kitchen remodeling company or the best cabinet prices? Start with a shortlist that matches your project, then compare the complete written scope. This guide gives you ten researched starting points and specific questions to ask each one.

How this comparison works: Companies are listed alphabetically, not ranked. Profiles summarize official company materials reviewed October 13, 2026 (UTC); they are not firsthand project reviews or endorsements. We have not independently verified licenses, insurance, customer ratings, pricing or current availability. HIBC publishes this guide and sells product-purchasing memberships. A company’s inclusion does not imply an HIBC relationship.

Match the company and contract to your jurisdiction

The Washington metro comparison includes companies serving different parts of the District, Maryland and Virginia. A metro-wide search does not establish that a firm accepts projects at your address. Confirm the exact service area and jurisdiction before comparing design and construction proposals.

Before you shortlist:
  • Which entity signs the contract and performs the work at your address?
  • Who handles local approvals and any condominium or historic-property requirements that apply?
  • Are cabinetry, construction and design covered by one scope or separate agreements?

For the market’s existing planning guidance, see our Washington, DC kitchen planning and quote guide. For a separate room, use the primary bathroom remodel planning guide.

What counts as the best cabinet price?

A meaningful cabinet deal starts with the same cabinet list, construction, finish, hardware and installation scope. A price per cabinet or a promotional percentage can hide differences in sizes, panels, accessories, freight or labor. Ask for the itemized specification and a complete written total.

Comparable products + all required parts + delivery and taxes + installation = your useful comparison.

Use our kitchen cabinet total-cost worksheet to place the quotes side by side. If you are considering an HIBC membership, include the membership fee and every applicable project cost. Do not assume a membership or a headline discount will make every project less expensive.

How to use company reviews without being misled

Match the review to the job you want done. A cabinet-delivery review may say little about a full remodel; a bathroom project may involve a different team or scope. Look for recent, specific accounts of communication, change orders, installation quality and issue resolution. Check the company identity and location before comparing ratings across websites.

Ask the company for references from a similar project and a written explanation of who handles unfinished work or warranty issues. This guide does not reproduce star ratings or claim that company testimonials are independent verification. The FTC’s contractor-hiring guidance offers additional checks.

Separate the product decision from the construction decision

Compare your kitchen purchasing options.

Bring your cabinet list, room measurements and competing product quote. HIBC can help with a kitchen design and purchasing comparison while you choose and contract with your installer independently.

Where HIBC belongs in the comparison

HIBC is a product-purchasing membership, not a remodeling contractor. Gold’s current first-year fee is $4,995; an additional year is optional and separately purchased for $495, with no automatic renewal. Compare your actual products, applicable membership fees, taxes, freight and installation against the alternatives. Savings and availability are not guaranteed.

The current membership offer has a conditional 30-day refund window if no orders have been placed. Read the current offer and terms before joining. This guide does not change membership, cancellation or product-order rights.

Questions buyers ask

Which company is the best kitchen remodeler in Washington, DC?

There is no single verified winner in this guide. The right shortlist depends on your address, project scope, design needs and who will be responsible for installation. Use the profiles to ask comparable questions and verify current credentials and references.

Should I compare a cabinet supplier with a design-build remodeler?

Yes, if you separate product purchasing from construction. Ask the supplier what is excluded, obtain the installer’s written scope, and compare the combined cost and responsibilities with the design-build proposal.

Can these companies handle a primary bathroom too?

Some companies’ official materials describe bathroom work; others focus on cabinetry or kitchen services. Confirm the exact room and service scope directly. Our primary bathroom guide has a separate wet-area and product worksheet.

Research notes and sources

Selection uses publicly described kitchen, cabinetry or remodeling services relevant to this market. It is not a top-ten ranking, a market-share survey or a complete directory. Company websites establish what the businesses publish about themselves; they do not establish workmanship or independent customer satisfaction.

Use the correct local authority:
  • District of Columbia only; Maryland and Virginia suburbs use other authorities.
  • District licensing services; do not treat them as Maryland or Virginia contractor checks.
  • Maryland state program; county or municipal permit questions require the property authority.
  • Virginia DPOR regulated license categories; this capture does not verify a contractor or any local permit.
