Start with the collection and your actual selection

The official Thomasville Cabinetry website presents its cabinetry through The Home Depot and provides design inspiration and product-selection resources. Use the manufacturer’s information to identify what you have selected, then use your written proposal to confirm what is included. Source: Thomasville Cabinetry.

Do not compare a brand name to a photograph. Ask your designer to identify the quoted collection, door style, finish and cabinet schedule. Save the exact description from the proposal. Similar-looking doors can differ in proportions, material, finish and construction. A comparison is useful when those differences are visible before you pay.

Protect the details that make your kitchen feel finished

A kitchen is experienced at arm’s length every day. The island end you see from the living room, the drawer beside the range and the pantry you open every morning deserve attention. Make a short list of your nonnegotiables before looking at another proposal.

Your priority

What to confirm

A coordinated painted kitchen

Exact finish selection and a physical sample

A furniture-style island

End panels, trim and finished-back treatment

Better everyday storage

Drawer sizes, waste pullouts and pantry configuration

A clean installation

Fillers, clearance requirements and appliance dimensions

A manageable schedule

Ordering milestones and responsibility for measurement

Then identify where you are flexible. A different available cabinet line may meet your design goals, but it should be presented as an alternative—not relabeled as Thomasville. HIBC is not presenting itself as a Thomasville dealer or promising that brand through membership.

Separate cabinet pricing from the project total

Write down product cost, delivery, taxes, measurement, installation and any demolition or trade work. Ask whether each item is included, excluded or an allowance. This avoids comparing one provider’s installed kitchen with another provider’s cabinet-only price. Also check who handles ordering corrections, delivery inspection and the installation handoff.

HIBC’s model is membership, with no HIBC-added product markup. Independent showroom partners provide design and pricing. Gold costs $4,995 for the first year and $495 annually beginning Year 2. Include the membership fee in your calculation so the final decision reflects what you will actually spend.

Compare before the order becomes your commitment

Gold’s full initial membership refund is available within 30 days if you are dissatisfied and have placed no orders. Use that evaluation period to review fit, selection and pricing before placing an order. It is a membership policy, not a product-return promise.

Read our door-style comparison guide and complete quote checklist. Then request your free initial kitchen review. You do not have to abandon the kitchen you love to make a more informed buying decision.

Before you order: make your kitchen budget work harder

You do not need another folder of beautiful kitchens. You need a clear answer: can you achieve the look, storage and quality you want through a better buying arrangement? Start with the proposal you already have. Keep the features you love, identify where you are flexible, and compare the complete purchase before committing.

Your next step: request a free initial review before placing your cabinet order. Tell us your project ZIP code, timing and whether you have a cabinet schedule. Independent showroom professionals can then discuss available design and pricing options for your project.

Your cabinet comparison worksheet

Copy these five headings into a document and complete them for each proposal. Leave an item marked “not specified” until the provider answers it. An unanswered question is a reason to clarify the quote, not a reason to assume the least expensive option includes everything.

1. The look you will live with

Record the door style, finish name, material description and exposed-end treatment. Identify the island separately if it uses another color or material. Ask to see physical samples in your room alongside flooring and countertop selections. Evaluate the combination in daylight and evening lighting before finalizing your choices.

2. The storage you will use every day

List what currently frustrates you: stacked pans, inaccessible corners, overflowing drawers or food stored in several places. Match each problem to a specific cabinet or accessory in the proposal. A pullout shown in an inspiration image is not necessarily included in your order. Confirm quantities and dimensions in writing.

3. The complete finished package

Check fillers, crown molding, toe kicks, appliance panels, finished backs and decorative ends. Ask your designer to explain how the cabinets meet walls, ceilings and appliances. These details help distinguish a complete plan from a low starting number that still needs additions.

4. The people responsible

Write down who measures, who approves the final cabinet order, who receives deliveries and who installs. Ask how missing or damaged components are handled and who coordinates corrections. HIBC supports the member buying process; independent providers perform the services described in their own agreements.

5. The total you will actually pay

Add cabinets, accessories, delivery, taxes, membership and separately contracted services. Identify allowances and exclusions beside the total. If one proposal includes installation and another does not, get that missing amount before deciding. Your goal is a beautiful completed kitchen supported by a transparent buying decision.

Where to invest—and where to explore alternatives

Protect your daily-use priorities. If drawer storage, a particular finish or a finished island is central to your design, keep it in both comparisons. Question upgrades you do not value. Ask for optional decorative features or accessories to be itemized so you can choose deliberately. Stay open about the manufacturer when appropriate. If your priority is a look and specification rather than a particular label, compare available alternatives on their merits.

Use the cabinet storage planning guide to refine your priorities and the showroom preparation checklist to make the conversation productive.

Already have a quote? You are ready for the next conversation.

You can begin with your existing design rather than starting your research over. Ask about the features that matter most, review available alternatives and evaluate membership against your complete purchase. Gold gives you 30 days to evaluate the initial membership with a full membership refund if you are dissatisfied and have placed no orders.
