Create an appliance specification sheet first
List each retained or proposed appliance with its model, dimensions and installation instructions when available. Ask the appropriate trades to evaluate power, plumbing, gas and ventilation needs rather than assuming a new model uses the same connections.
Mark appliance openings and door swings on an approximate sketch. A refrigerator, dishwasher and adjacent drawer need to function together, not merely fit in separate catalog dimensions. Have your installer verify clearances and final measurements before any product order.
- Identify appliances that are changing type or location.
- Keep connection questions with the relevant professional.
- Separate confirmed models from provisional selections.
Do not confuse minor electrical work with every appliance circuit
The City of Las Vegas lists certain permits that do not require plans. Its minor-electrical category excludes a dedicated circuit to a fixed appliance, such as a dishwasher, which requires plans under that guidance. This makes appliance requirements a useful early discussion with your electrician.
Check the complete project with the city rather than treating a list of online permits as approval for a whole remodel. Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas and unincorporated areas are different jurisdictions; establish which authority covers your address.

Compare an installation-ready package
Match cabinet construction, finish, dimensions, hardware and accessories across quotes. Include panels, fillers and trim, and confirm the counter and sink specifications against the chosen appliances. Ask how any model change will alter the package.
Add delivery, installation, connection work, taxes, permits and membership to the comparison. Record what is excluded, who receives deliveries and how damaged or incorrect products are handled. Confidential wholesale quotes are evaluated against the same scope, with no guaranteed saving.
- Assign final specification approval.
- Keep allowances distinct from fixed prices.
- Request written revisions before accepting substitutions.

Can a new dishwasher affect more than the cabinet opening?
Yes. Its installation requirements may involve power, plumbing and surrounding products. The City of Las Vegas specifically excludes dedicated fixed-appliance circuits from its no-plan minor-electrical category. Have your electrician and installer review the actual model and work scope.
